Shark tagging in Scotland
A three-day effort to tag and count as many sharks off the west coast of Scotland.
Many species found here are endangered but Scotland still issues permits to allow finning - the practice of cutting fins off the living shark and dumping the low-value carcass at sea.
Ian Burrett of the Scottish Sea Anglers' Conservation Network shows how the sharks are tagged and explains why the project is so important.
Included for interest, I was not involved in this activity.
